Yeah, So I watched the movie 'V for Vendetta' this evening, and I must say I was impressed. Great movie, and though I do not find it realistic politically, I think it was a great story.

However, What disheartened me was the people I was watching the movie with all came up with the conviction that "Gee, that movie just depicted our government, I wish GWB wasn’t such a hatemonger"

If you are not familiar with the movie, the plot depicts a man on a vendetta against a government that has taken control of Britain by deporting/imprisoning people who they deemed unnecessary, aka Muslims, Jews, the Irish, and Homosexuals. The government created a sense of fear by creating an epidemic, getting them elected, and then vaccinating the public against the epidemic that they created. A great 1984-esq movie, however I am having a hard time making the connection between the movie and the Bush administration.

To start off, I believe that I need to make it clear, that I do not support everything that the Bush administration has done to this point, I think he has done as good of a job as possible with the middle east, I think some of his domestic policies, cough hack wheeze immigration, could have been worked out better, but I do believe he has handled the economy fantastically.

It was quoted that the Bush administration has been going around, singling out Muslims and arresting them, simply for being Muslim. Best example of this is this Dearborn Michigan story of where a man was caught buying hundreds of cell phones for intent of resale, which is a federal law anyways, but let’s overlook that for a moment. The reason why FBI officers got involved was because several cases of this same type of incident happened very close together across the country. In many of the cases, if the perps intent was to resale the phones, why would they throw out the chargers? And then lie about their identities and their plans to do with the phones, even to the extent of providing a false identification to the arresting officers, another federal crime, but we are overlooking that stuff.

I digress, point and case, these guys are guilty, and thus the feds were in the green to arrest them. Its not racial profiling if it’s a crime that you can arrest anybody else on, and they do.

I think its obvious that the government didn’t fly planes into the twin towers, the pentagon and accidentally crash one into a field in PA to stir up anti-Muslim feelings so we could give president bush extra powers so he could become all mighty dictator of America. It’s a disgrace that we funded these people to fight the Russians so many years ago, and some see that as a connection. I do not however. During the Civil War the Union government supplied the weapons which the Confederacy attacked them with, and the same happened during WW2 with the weapons that Japan attacked us with.

Ooh, and the government doesn’t censor the news, If they did, do you think that the New York Times would still be rolling, CNN would be a long lost memory by now. But we don’t, even after the New York Times printed potentially dangerous information, on the front page, that probably got somebody killed, there wasn’t a peep from the Bush Administration. Why? Freedom of the press is a vital part of our nation’s heritage.

America is at a critical point, and in order to stay safe, I believe that a government has the right to protect its citizens with due course. That does not mean you tap peoples phones without a warrant, and it does not mean that we extend the presidents term indefinitely so that he can see us through it. However, something is brewing in the Middle East, and it has been brewing since the 1980 Tehran Hostage Crisis. And I honestly do believe that we are heading into a situation, that all of us may not be comfortable with, a situation like we dealt with in WW2, in which we may have to alter our way of life. I don’t expect anybody to have read this far, it’s me just bitching. But the events of this month prove, we are not out of this yet, and we are not even that deep into it. Extremists are not kidding when they say, "We want to wipe Israel and America off the face of the planet." They will try, and it is up to us to stop them.

Ooh, which brings me to my next point Death to America Chanting is the "cool" thing to do in the Middle East This Lebanon thing proves it. Not even a fucking year ago, and we brokered a deal to get Syria out of there which had been controlling the country for years, and the Lebanese really didn’t like it all that much. And then after the Hezbollah Humanitarian Crew Kidnapped two soldiers and the same humanitarians started shelling Israeli citizens, everybody was on the death to America bandwagon again. Its big in Iran, even though most of the people there have no idea where America is, and cant even remember the last time an American affected there life, and after they finish their death to America rally they go eat at McDonalds wearing their Abercrombie. It’s a fad, one person does it, and it catches on, people are like, whoa man, that’s got to be cool, so many other people are going it, lets blame something on somebody else that I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT. I love it. That and if you ever watch CNN or read the times you always see some little kid holding a burning American flag. You look at it and you’re like, gee kid, don’t you want like, a ball to play with. BUT NO, everybody else around him is doing it, nobody seems to have an idea why, but they are sort of doing it because well hey, peer pressure, all the cool kids are doing it, don’t you want to be cool too? Its like smoking, because you know, it’s cool when you start, but then after a couple of years you’ll probably do something stupid, and your shit will get ruined like Afghanistan.

And the governments of these countries love it because they are like, gee, well we can’t provide basic services for our people, we are kind of imposing a theocracy on them, but they aren’t even protesting about us? Wow, how lucDEATH TO AMERICA!

Blah, I swear, sometimes I wish we would go back to isolationism, live in our good live and let everybody else figure out that there are actually other things to blame their problems on except America. But then I remember that everybody deserves at least a chance at the same rights that we have today, including the right to burn our flag, chant for our enemies and denounce our nation’s policies to the rest of the world, because that is what America is all about. Perhaps the reason why people in the Middle East protest America is because they are not allowed to protest anything else.

Well my friends, I have an apartment now.

Well sorta. We are moving in april first.

were moving to south portland, to a place called Olde English Village,
Its extreamly exciting, in fact it couldnt have worked out any better.

My self, Christine Penn, Nick St. Amand, and the beautiful Ms. Amanda Jane Thebarge went to view an apartment there at 10 am this morning.
Christine and I had been there previously, but we wanted to make sure everybody else would like it. So, we went and saw it, and they did.
The lady that was showing it told us that the apartment would become availble april first and asked if we were interested in putting a down payment on the rent. We asked for a minute, and she let us. And we all agreed that we should take the offer. So we did. The apartment never was able to be advertised.

We were sposed to look at another place after, but we canceled and went out to the olive garden instead.

This apartment is fanstastic. walking distance to sopo municipal golf course, walking distance to the mall and resturants. RIGHT NEXT DOOR TO RICHETTA'S! spitting distance to the portland campus and the old port. This is fantastic. and now I cant wait to move in.

I'm finding politics to be extremely... well dumb lately. On both sides, I mean, I’m a republican, you know it. This whole thing with Cheney shooting someone, yeah he did it, honestly, I’m glad that the guy lived cause i can find humor in it. But seriously. WHY DO PEOPLE CARE? He made a mistake, get over it. None of this bull shit "this is so typical of our government" "its an interpretation of how this government has been run" O RLY? Well then vote the fucker out of office in 08, wait, you can’t, guess your stuck with it, deal.

The port thing, another item, yeah its sketchy, but what do you think that they are gonna do? a bunch of black suits from Dublia are going to be like, ok, you know what, i think im going to single handedly disable our coast guard, the federal port inspectors, the state, local and federal cops, not to mention the port authorities of each individual port, and the security companies controlling each individual boat that comes in and out of a port. its not going to matter, these guys have controlled ports in Europe and Latin America for 25 years with a clean record. If we are so for not discriminating against other races, then why do it here?

I’ve had a thought with the whole abortion/ death penalty thing. As most of you hopefully know, leftists usually like to lean towards banning the death penalty and allowing abortion. People on the right are for banning abortion and allowing the death penalty. After thinking about this, I realized that both positions are stupid. The lefts position is basically: it’s ok to kill unborn children, but not alright to kill convicted killers. However the right's isn’t much better, which involves: we won’t allow a woman to chose what is best for her, but were going to kill whoever we deem necessary.

So how does one solve this epic problem: moderation

One can have one, but not the other. For instance, our current system makes sense: we allow women to choose whether or not to kill unborn children, and we have the right to sentence killers to death if our courts deem it necessary.
But the other way works to: we disallow abortion, which stops in some’s views unnecessary death, but we also put an end to killing those who have killed.

This system works in many ways, in fact our government works because politicians of the past have held up ideals of moderation. Don’t get me wrong, I am a staunch republican, and I believe that there are many ways that this country could improve if we were more conservative, but there is a staunch democrat somewhere out there, who believes that this county would be better run more liberally. No matter who is running this country, I don’t care if its fucking Hillary “I’ve got asbestos in my Vagina” Clinton , no matter who is in the courts, and no matter who is president, there will always be some sort of moderation in this country for two reasons:

1. The people, by some sort of natural development, have always been pretty equally spilt between left and right
2. Nobody in government has the balls to actually push our government one way or the other.

Blah, I could rant about this for hours and hours, but I’m done for now.

Well, here i sit in my room, atop the grand Anderson Hall, here on the Gorham Campus of USM. From my room I can see a voyleball net, nearby Woodward Hall (part of the Anderson-Wood Community), a parking lot, Russel Hall, the spired top of Corthel Hall, and a good chunk of where hippies live, Robbie-Andrews. College life has been intresting to say the least, hallway parties, voyages into nearby Gorham Center, Family Guy, and who could forget, hey hey, ho ho? Yes, its been a intresting last couple of days, heres a rundown:

My Room: extreamly messy, my roomate is worse than me, i enjoy

Its Warm: here in my room
Everybody: Gone for the weekend, theres not much here thursday-sunday cept for drinking and videogames

Well, here i sit, 3:30 on a tuesday afternoon, at my office, here at the portland fish exchange. Tis is slow, because we had little weight on the auction. But thats ok, because i have my journal to keep me company, right?

So, im figuring the odds are this is going to be my last update as a pre-college student, not that it matters, but i figured it was worth saying. So here goes

yeah, so im a little bored right now, im at work, and im at a lull in my day, so i figured i would take a break. So lets think,

i have 15 days unill i 'leave' for school. I have 8 days left working. and then i get a nice little 5 day vaca, so i can pack, rest, get ready and shit for school.

What else.... oh me and amanda celebrate 17 months on monday, in celebration were going to usm and registering her car!
woooh.

Im not driving in the fall, insurance + gas= lots of money, so, i figure i dont wanna pay that much
money though apperantly i do have the money to throw around. i guess.

Paintball was cancelled, well atleast temporarly, i dont think its going to happen at all though.

shortass left, sarah left, a bunch of people are leaving next week, everybody else is the week after, i leave at the begining of the week after that. blahhhhh, i so dont want to be working right now, but i am getting paid money to sit here and enter into my live journal, quite a good rate i might add.

but yeah, i really hant been up to much as of latley, spending time with men, amanda, oh yeah, i met my roommate the other day, or is it roomate? dono, that was intresting to say the least, walked around, tried bubble tea, went to the great lost bear, it was enjoyable, sad i had to work the next morning, but im sure ill get over it.

god damn this is a long entry, im wondering if i could get away with signing onto aim, but im not going to bother, cause i can see another boat comming in, back to work kiddies.

Work= tuesday-thursday, satruday sunday, 8:30-4:30 at the fish auction
play= poker, computer, tennis, beach, paintball, men
school= sept 4 i movein, 508 anderson, roommate seems like a good kid
amanda= 17 months next week, shes in 514, im so happy =)
paintball= Aug 20, with goodmen
lappy= hot
bed= sheetless
cavvy= past inspection, oops
my back= hurts
lanate= dead
tuesday night poker= one more, let me know if you want in
my room= temperate
outside= 90 degrees
beach= looking better and better
games= cs source, RON again, and o course sim city 4
gladiator= one of the best movies ive seen in awhile

How is it going?
Thats good, im glad to hear that.
So, to say the least, life has been sorta intresting.
I got fired from a job this week, got a new job three days later.
I followed around tony the tiger on friday, got paid $18 an hour to do it, twas nice

Ok, so, i start at the PFE full time on the week of the 21st, whenever that is. If anybody wants a tour of a warehouse full of dead fish, let me know, i can hook you up.

I start a Full time time temp position tomorow working 6:00am-2:30pm inspecting pacaged food. Intresting gig. For a couple of weeks, depends on what is going by the end of the summer, but yeah, i got a job.

YEAH.

Me and amanda are going strong, definatly no complaints, im finding my self extreamly lucky to have found somebody like her. I cant even explain it, anyways, not suitable for livejournal, too much possible scrutiny.

So yeah, schools comming up,excited for that, be a good time.

YEAHHHHH

ok, going to sleep now,cause i gotta get up at 4:30... yep

well..
im on break right now at work... hannaford,
and im really tired cause i only got like 4 hours of sleepm last night.
and i had to work at 7 this morning
and in about 2 hours, im leaving here and heading to my other job.
blhehehehehehehehe
its ok.
The fishexchange is thinking about putting me on full time,
that would be friggen sweeets
no more media power
but still hannaford
the continuity kills/loves me
its ok
im a scholar, and they pay me to do so
